China is a sought after trading partner, also a dictatorship with low transparency. Last year, Chinese direct investment in Europe was three times as large as in the United States and every fifth of China’s corporate purchases in Europe were Swedish. Several countries are stopping China’s advance – is it justified or excessive?

Do Chinese Companies Follow International Game Rules? Is Donald Trump right when he puts hard on hard? Is Europe and Sweden naive when it comes to China? How do we ensure that intellectual property rights do not fall into the wrong hands?

Mistra Geopolitics’ co-director and senior research fellow at Stockholm Environment Institute, Karl Hallding will be in the panel together with:

  • Karine Hirn, partner, East Capital Hong Kong
  • David Hallgren, Trade Commissioner, Business Sweden
  • Johan Bygge, Senior Advisor, EQT Asia
  • Carolina Dackö, partner and lawyer, expert on direct investment rules, Mannheimer Swartling
