Mistra Geopolitics researchers are hosting a session on <em>the Geopolitics of phosphorus</em> at the <a href="http://www.sps2018.com.br">6<sup>th </sup>Sustainable Phosphorus summit (SPS) 2018</a> in Brasilia hosted by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Coporation - Embrapa.

&nbsp;

Karin Eliasson, PhD student at Linköping University and Mistra Geopolitics researcher, held a presentation on <em>‘Spatially explicit use of phosphorus and related environmental impacts in Brazilian soybean production for European consumption’ – </em>a joint project with Mistra Geopolitics researchers from Linköping University and the Stockholm Environment Institute, at the 6<sup>th </sup>SPS in Brasilia.

The session ‘Geopolitics of Phosphorus – the importance of trade, teleconnections and governance for phosphorus sustainability’ was organized and chaired by Mistra Geopolitics researcher associate Prof. Tina-Simone Neset jointly with Geneviéve Metson (both also from Linköping University).

&nbsp;

The session brought together researchers from various countries and research areas focusing on teleconnections, trade, stakeholder mapping, institutional frameworks and governance aspects related to sustainable global phosphorus management.

&nbsp;

Tina-Simone Neset also participates in a special meeting of the UNEP Phosphorus Task Team to debate phosphorus and global environmental governance.
